Garland was a good friend of my parents, Louise and Kenneth Graham. They were friends from their teenage years growing up together in the Maryville, MO area. I remember Garland especially from my childhood years when our families got together. He was fun loving and friendly. As I grew up and moved into my adult life and spent some years away from the Kansas City area, I saw less of Garland and his family. But every time I saw him over the years he was the same friendly, cheerful and kind person.
Shirley, Doug, Becky and Charlene – I’m sorry for your loss and for that of the rest of the family.

Aunt Shirley and family:

I extend my sincere sympathy to all of you at what I know is a very sad and mournful time.

I know first hand how profound a loss it is when you realize that Garland will no longer be there for all the events in your life. I can tell you though that the very best way to mark his passing is by filling your hearts and minds with all of the wonderful memories you have of happier times.

May you find peace in the knowledge that Garland brought much joy, love and laughter to all and accomplished so much in his lifetime. He will long be remembered as the hardworking, intelligent and loving man that he was.

My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you during this difficult time. I hope you feel some comfort in the outpouring of sympathy from all of us who share your loss.

In Deepest Sympathy and with much love,

Rhonda Betts

Dear Shirley and family-I am so sorry for your loss. Garland was such a blessing to so many. He was very special to Roger, Luke, Tabbie and I. We loved him so-he believed in us when no one else did! And many thanks to you for sharing him with us. Shirley you hold a very special place in our hearts also. I can't begin to know how your heart aches. I remember the first time we met (on Craig) and from that day forward you both took us under your wings and just loved us! The knowledge he gave to Roger can never be taken from him but only passed on to Luke and his son and so on. We will be praying for you and not a day goes by that I don't think of how you gave us the chance to make this house our home! Thanks for being in our life and we will miss you Garland! See you in the Promise Land some sweet day! Much love-Roger Teri-Luke- Tabbie Carrender

No words can ever express our sorrow when someone we love dearly leaves us. I loved Garland's sense of humor and funny smile-I admired his straightforwardness and frankness. Garland reminded me so much of my own father. I will miss him greatly.
