GEORGE CAMERON SLOAN

1938 - 2016

George Cameron Sloan, 78, passed away June 14, 2016. George was born in St. Joseph, Mo., on April 11, 1938, and was the only child of James Herman Sloan and Helen Grace Hatton Sloan. He resided in Leavenworth, Kan., until he met his wife of 54 years, Macon Wales Sloan who recently passed away. George graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., in 1964. He was self-employed most of his career and owned several small businesses. George had many friends and enjoyed activities such as visiting the mountains in the summer, going to car shows and boating at Lake of the Ozarks. George will be missed by his surviving family of two children, Terrilyn Sloan Gratwick and Todd Cameron Sloan, and their spouses, Tom Cain and Mary Beth Sloan. He is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley L. Gratwick and Tyler M. Gratwick and spouses' children, Max Rohlf, Taylor Cain, Lauren Cain and Haley Cain. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 23 at the Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, Kan. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. and memorial service at 10 a.m. with a reception immediately following the service. ARA Cremations
