DEAREST BARBARA

I'VE BEEN SPARED THE AGONY OF LOOSING A CHILD. IF GOD DECIDES TO RETURN ONE OF MY CHILDREN TO HIS HEART...I'LL BE ABLE TO COPE. YOU ARE MY GUIDE AND MY ROLE MODEL. YOU MAY NOT KNOW THIS...BUT, IN MY EYES...YOU HAVE THE STRENGTH OF A THOUSAND ANGELS. AND WILL IS ONE OF THOSE ANGELS. HE'S STILL STRONG AND HE'S KEEPING YOU IN GOD'S GRACE.

THE LITTLE GUY IS DOING HIS JOB.

IT'S JUST LIKE HE NEVER LEFT.

BLESS YOU

STAY IN GOD'S LIGHT

SINCERELY,

MARY ANN

Will was one of the most considerate people I have ever met. He was always smiling. He was on the tennis team with me. On the days that I was down he talked to me to make sure I felt better before the end of practice. I will never forget my little buddy~Gerald Menefee III. My prayers are for the Menefees, the rest of his family, and all others that were close to him.

Barbara and Gerry, you have enlisted the prayerful and loving support of so many people in our churches and communities who have made Will's journey part of their own. My family, my congregation and I are deeply saddened by the tragedy that has encompassed all of you in Will's passing. May the One who is Strength and Love surround you and uphold you even as faithful community and friends walk with you knowing that nothing can separate us from God's love. I was in band with Will. I didn't become close to him, but I wish I did. I wish I had words that I could say that would make sense right now, but all I know is Will was blessed.

He was a face,

That we had never really known.

Talked to once or twice,

Even thrown around with on the floor.

He had a laugh,

That would make one wonder.

He has a sense of being,

That brought one too its knees.

He had a time,

We all shared in laughter.

Weather we knew him close or not,

Its a matter of opinion.

He had an impact,

That could bring down mountains.

He had an attitude,

That let us knew he loved his life.

He had a life,

That was shorten for his call.

He was called,

And he answered.

So now we remember,

The face we knew so briefly,

Our friend, Will Menefee.

I knew Will from school. He was a great person to have around. When you saw him in the halls you would have to tap him on the back for him to notice you. He always had on his head phones. Will was there to ask questions and help if you needed him to be. I know many of us will miss Will at school but we will think of him and hope the best for him. Bless Will

AS A NURSE, I HAD TO LISTEN TO THE FACTS, LAB VALUES AND PLAN OF CARE. AS A MOTHER, MY HEART COULD ONLY LISTEN TO HOPE. ALTHOUGH MY HEART AND HEAD ARE OVERWHELMED WITH DISBELIEF AND GRIEF, MY FAITH REMINDS ME OF THE BLESSED ASSURANCE THAT ONE DAY WE WILL MEET AGAIN. I PROMISED TO BE THERE FOR YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS EXPERIENCE WITH US THROUGH YOUR E-MAILS AND YOUR POSITIVE AND SPIRITUAL ATTITUDE. YOU ARE A BLESSING.

I am very sorry for your loss. I am a freshman at Oak Park High School and have heard all the e-mails that you have been sending to our school. I have been praying for the entire family ever since I found out that Will was in the Hospital. I didn't know Will very well, but I did meet him the day of Winter Guard try-outs. I spoke with him for about 30 minutes. I really enjoyed speaking with him. I knew just by the conversation we had that he was a really cool guy. Again I would like to say that I am sorry and that your entire family is in my prayers.
