Independence, Missouri - Gerald Keating Schroeder, 85, of Independence, MO passed away March 22, 2021 after a battle with Liver Cancer. He was born August 1, 1935 in St. Joseph, MO. Navy Veteran. After working for Faith Steel, he was a cab driver for many years, which he loved. Also an avid lover of sports and westerns along with being a world traveler. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Lynn Needles of Lees Summit, MO along with her husband Joseph Needles. Three grandchildren, Joseph Scott Needles (Anna), Christopher Matthew Needles, and Stefanie Needles. He is also survived by his two step daughters Linda Collier and Judy Taylor (Bill) along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and many friends he made over the years. He was known for his friendliness and charming personality.
A small memorial service in his honor is planned for Thursday, March 25th at 5PM. Harmony Heights Missionary Baptist Church. 1701 N Salem Drive, Independence, MO 64058. KC Funeral Directors 913-262-6310
