Gilbert was such a warrior for the Hispanic youth of KC. He was greatly influential in getting the charter schools started back in 1999 with his passion and support for educational reform. Truly a life well lived. He will be missed.

We have great memories of the times with Gilbert. I worked with Gilbert on numerous Hispanic events and initiatives in the past going way back. My husband, Jim, loved to visit with Gilbert on happenings and history matters.
Gilbert will be missed greatly by all of us.
