Harold Moore Obituary

Dr. Harold D. Moore, of Olathe, passed away on July 31, 2005. He was born September 22, 1927 in Emporia, KS. Dr. Moore served in the Navy and responded to the call to the Ministry in 1952. He was a graduate of Ottawa University, Colgate Rochester Divinity School and Andover Newton Seminary, and completed clinical training at Menninger. Dr. Moore served as an American Baptist Minister, pastoring churches in Springhill, KS, Himrod, NY, East Rochester, NY and Manhattan, KS. He worked for American Baptist Churches Center for the Ministry in Valley Forge, PA, and directed career development centers for the ministry in Columbus, OH, Boston, MA and Kansas City for the Minister & Missionary's Benefit Board. Harold had lifelong interests in watch and clock repair, and stained glass. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Moore, children Terry Moore, Kathy Dozier, Wendy Moore, Cheryl Pansire, and siblings Robert, William and Ruth. Our father ministered many, was loved by all he touched, and will be missed on earth. He will be welcomed into the hands of God. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd, at Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village. A memorial fund has been established in his name to the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter. (Arrangements: Charter Funerals 816921-5555)

Harold was a good and faithful servant of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a wonderful friend and mentor to many who serve in the ministry today. I have wonderful memories of conversations shared. May his family sense God's gracious presence with them at this time of loss.
