Harvey Kimble Obituary

Harvey Siess Kimble, M.D.

April 12, 1930 - July 24, 2025

Overland Park, Kansas - Harvey Siess Kimble, M.D. was born on April 12, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away after a long battle with multiple myeloma on Thursday, July 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet dignity.

Harvey was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, whose steady presence and deep devotion to family were the foundation of many cherished memories. His warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor touched all who knew him.

Harvey attended several schools in the Kansas City area, graduating from Westport High School. He was active in ROTC and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University and began his professional career at Phillips Petroleum. Harvey returned to school to pursue a career in medicine, studying at the medical school in Memphis, Tennessee. He became the first Anesthesia resident at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City and later served at KU Medical Center before returning to St. Luke's and St. Joseph Hospital, where he worked until his retirement. There were many wonderful trips all over the world that he enjoyed and will be cherished memories to the family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Sandy of nearly 50 years; his son Brian and wife Kate; grandson Michael; daughter Kelly and husband Neils Sorensen; granddaughters Cassidy and Lindsay; and his sister Doris Sharrock and his cat and companion Sheba.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or service. A small family gathering will be held at a later date for inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to KC Hospice House in honor of Harvey's memory.

Though he is no longer with us, Harvey's love will live on in the hearts of those he held dear.
