HELEN M. KNUTTER

Helen Maurine (Legg) Knutter, 99, of Liberty, MO, formally Polo, MO, passed away Sat., Aug. 11, 2012, at Liberty Hospital. Helen was born July 17, 1913, in Polo, MO, to John F. and Jennie F. (Dennis) Legg, who preceded her in death. On March 19, 1932, she married Lloyd Manford Knutter, who preceded her in death. To this union they had two daughters, Ressie Jean (Knutter) Toon, who preceded her in death, and Charlotte Sue (Knutter) Mayes. Helen and Lloyd were members of the First Christian Church, Polo, MO, for over 50 years. She was the last surviving child of five: Florence Naomi Legg, Alice Mildred Legg, Charles Herman Legg, and Frances Merle Legg. Survivors: one daughter Charlotte Sue (Knutter) & Jim Mayes; three grandchildren: Jill Louise (Toon) & John Daugherty, Rhonda Sue (Mayes) & Greg Self, and Scott Edward & Tammy Mayes; six great-grandchildren: Ashley Marie (Daugherty) & Cody Pittman, Kristine Johnna Daugherty, Tyler James Self, Ethan Gregory Self, Landon Edward Mayes, Trinity Ruth Mayes; and two step great-grandchildren: Conner Austin Sabbert and Caitlyn Nichole Sabbert. Services: 11 a.m. Tues., Aug. 14, First Christian Church Polo, MO. Interment: Elmira Cemetery Elmira, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
