HENRY HOLLIDAY Obituary
Henry Clark Holliday, "Hank," was suddenly taken to Heaven on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, following a tragic car accident in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hank was born May 17, 1961, and was 48 years of age at the time of his death. He resided in Charlotte with his wife, the love of his life and best friend of 23 years, Lorie Michale (Bassett) Holliday. Hank was a loving and devoted father to his three daughters, the apples of his eye, Chelsi, Cidney, and Caitlin. He was the beloved son of Henry and Vearnealure, (Kansas City, Kansas) and the best brother in the world to his three sisters Ann (Chattanooga, Tennessee), Mildred (Vallejo, California) and Theresa (Kansas City, Kansas). Other survivors include two uncles, three aunts, several nieces and nephews, two special cousins, Oscar "J.R." Holliday, and Lawrence "Buddy" Dees. When Hank and Michale were united in marriage, the Holliday and Bassett families were also united into one loving family unit. Hank was not an "in-law"; he was a son, brother and uncle. Hank loved attending the Henry- Holliday and Clark family reunions, connecting with relatives and learning about his genealogy. He treasured time spent with family members walking the land in Alabama or just being in their presence. Hank was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. He attended Our Lady and Saint Rose Catholic School and Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. In 1979 he graduated from Bishop Ward High School with honors as a member of the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta. He was published in the Who's Who Among American High School Students. Hank was employed for more than 20 years with Unisys as a Client Infrastructure Representative and is sorely missed both professionally and personally. Though Hank and his family lived in Kansas City, Denver, Little Rock and finally Charlotte, he remained an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs whether they were winning or losing. He wore Chiefs apparel, loved to talk sports, and was always in the know about much of the politics of the game. Hank will be greatly missed by his wife, his daughters, parents, sisters, his large extended family, his many wonderful neighbors and friends. Memorial Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial from 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the: Holliday Daughters' Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 49214, Charlotte, NC 28277, checks should be made to Lorie Michale Holliday.
