JACQUES TUCKER Obituary

Jacques Eaton Tucker died September 7, 2010, in Kansas City, MO. His body has been cremated and inurned at Mount Moriah Cemetery. A celebration of his life will occur at Charlie Hoopers in Brookside at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 15. Jacques was born April 23, 1930, in Newark, NJ, of Murray Eaton Tucker of Denison, TX, and Germaine Marguerite Daubisse of Aubisse, Payzac, Dordogne, France, who were married in New York in 1919. Jacques was raised in West Orange, NJ, graduating from West Orange High School in 1948, thereby becoming a '48 Tucker. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a private in 1948, serving at Quantico, VA. He also served in Camp Lejeune, NC; the Korean War; Washington, DC; Albany, GA; Okinawa, Japan; Tallahassee, FL, and finally, with fortuity, Kansas City, MO, retiring as a Captain after 20 years' service. Jacques graduated from FSU with a B.S. in Business, and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Jacques married his high school sweetie, Barbara Oberg, in September 1951. They were blessed with three children: Suzanne (Alongi) of Prairie Village, KS; Carol (Rogers) of Columbia, MO; and William of Kansas City, KS; and nine grandchildren: Troy Cooksey of Grand Junction, CO; Eric Cooksey of Thomson, IL; Isaac Alongi of Olathe, KS; Abraham Alongi of Anchorage, AK; Rachel Elise Tucker Neilson of Charlotte, NC; Emeline Rose Tucker Rogers and Benjamin Tucker Rogers of Columbia, MO; and Adrienne Tucker and Olivia Tucker of Kansas City, KS. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Jacques began his civilian career at Hallmark Cards and later established Tucker Consulting, Ltd.; International Bookkeeping; and Tucker & Tucker Accountants, Inc., with his faithful wife and partner until they retired in 1998. Over the years, Jacques served his community as President of the Ruskin Band Parents; a school board member of CSD-1, Hickman Mills; a lifetime member of the NRA; a charter member of the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance; and was politically active with the Libertarian Party as a candidate for Missouri Treasurer and the Jackson County legislature. Jacques was a man of tender heart and great intellect, with a passion for liberty and a deep love for his wife of 59 years and his family. He was an avid researcher of his family's genealogy and took great pleasure in his French heritage. His websites and blog have tried to inform Americans of the challenges facing our nation. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Salvation Army, 3637 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111.

Barbara, Bill and Family,

I express my sympathies at the Loss of Jacq. He was a great fellow and I always enjoyed his e-mails for the day, week or when ever he sent his "to the point" blog.

I wish you all well and am sorry that I am unable to be at Hoopers to share in the celebration of his life. I will keep you all in my prayers.
