JAMES LAWRENCE (JIMMY) SPAW James Lawrence (Jimmy) Spaw died unexpectedly Saturday morning at home in Annapolis, Maryland. He was born to Raye Scott Spaw and Chester Spaw on Sept. 8, 1965 in Richmond, Missouri and grew up in Wellington, Mo. He graduated from Wellington-Napoleon R-9 High School in 1983. He attended Central Missouri State University, where he earned a degree in history. He lived in Kansas City for a time, working for the IRS, then the Social Security Administration. He was transferred to the Baltimore, Maryland office, where he worked as a claims representative and supervisor for 25 years. He loved movies and was a collector of "Wizard of Oz" memorabilia. He was truly a giver who thought last about himself. He was preceded in death by his father, two cousins, Katie Scott and Andy Salyers and his Aunt Kaye Lewis and Uncle Doug Scott, and Linda Ireland Haller. He is survived by his partner of 15 years, Tom Ireland of the home; Tom's parents Eleanor and Francis Ireland; his mother of Lee's Summit; his brother, Mike (Susan) of Lee's Summit; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dogs, Gus, Buddy and Coco. Services will be Thursday October16, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St. in Denton Md. Visitation will be noon, funeral to follow at 1pm. A celebration of life will be held on Friday October 24, 2014, from 5-7 pm at the Rain Tree Duck Pond Club House 111 South West Cole Younger Drive, Lee's Summit Mo, 64082.
