Jessy Graham Obituary

Jessy Graham, 89, Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 19. Daughter of Russian immigrants, Morriss and Freda Epstein, Jessy graduated from Paseo High School at 16, and attended Kansas City Business College, where she excelled at the stenotype and became one of the youngest court reporters in Kansas City. Her career spanned more than 45 years. Jessy married Clyde Graham in 1943, and for 54 years traveled extensively all around the world. After retirement, Clyde and Jessy spent winters in Honolulu and summers at their home at Lake Lotawana. She cherished her relationships with her three children and had a close bond with all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Clyde. Survivors include her daughter Sandy Johnson and her husband Don, of Pleasant Hill, CA, son Fred and his wife Gail of Lake Lotawana, MO, and son Doug and his wife Ginger, of Leawood, KS. Grandchildren include Jennifer Cooper and her husband Patrick of Aliso Viejo, CA, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Heather of Martinez, CA, Courtney Graham, Kansas City, and Melissa Graham, Springfield, MO. One of her greatest joys was the birth of her greatgrandchild, Sydney. The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Odyssey Hospice whose compassion and caring was greatly appreciated. Private family graveside services will be held on Monday, April 25. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Volunteer Center of Johnson County. (Arr; Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel, (816)942-2004).
