Olathe, Kansas - Joann Ethel Koska, 86, went home to be with Jesus on December 28, 2023 following several years of battling dementia. She is survived by 4 children: Cathy (Mark) Railey of Holden MO; Jana (Dan) McCarron of Dunlap TN, Dorothy Ogden of Overland Park KS, and George (Kim) Offen of Pleasant Hill MO; 2 grandchildren: Aspen (John) Wall of Soddy Daisy TN and Jonathan (Allison) Coons of Huntsville AL; and 3 great-grandchildren: Evelyn, George and Cooper Wall. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and a few great greats!

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry (Hank) Koska; her parents Ada Bea Kennedy and Nova Morris; 3 brothers (Chuck, Jack and Bill) and 2 sisters (Jeanne and Cora Lee).

Born in Yonkers, Oklahoma on November 13, 1937, Joann graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1955 and from Research Hospital Nursing School in 1957. She was a RN at Menorah Hospital for more than 25 years.

Joann enjoyed music, sports, puzzles and games. She loved spending time with her family and considered them her most precious gift.

Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Drexel Hall, 3301 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO 64111. Interment at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery.
