I grew up in a family with a long friendship with John and his friends in the Kansas City area. I will never stop valuing that friendship and the many long conversations on books, politics and history. One of these held til 2 in the morning in the lovely Plaza Mayor in Madrid. My eyes were always opened by his insights and most importantly his style and fondness for a life lived well. The words class act were penned to describe him and they were ever so appropriate. I planned to visit him this Spring and
I will be remembering him instead with great fondness. We need more men like John. R.I.P. John Blake
