John Flatley Obituary

John Allen Flatley, M.D., 85, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2002, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2002 at Holy Rosary Church, Wea, KS. Friends may call at Muehlebach Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Charitable contributions may be made to Rose Brooks Home for Battered Women, P.O. Box 10453, Kansas City, MO 64171 or to Kansas City Hospice, 1625 West 92nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64114. John Flatley was born on October 19, 1916 in Green Bay, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison and took a residency in general surgery at the university. He was certified as a general surgeon by the American Board in 1952. He moved to Kansas City and was a member of the Raytown Clinic from 1952 until 1967. He then established a solo practice in general surgery in Kansas City. He retired in 1989 and moved to Cleveland, MO. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Wea, KS. He is survived by his wife, Sally and by his children, Susan Fischer and her husband, Tom, JoAnn Travis and her husband, Mike, Kathryn Koller, Elizabeth Neenan and her husband, Tedd, John and his wife, Kelly, Kevin, Mary Anne Jenkins and her husband, Robert, Sara Moriarty and her husband, Woody, Nancy Link and her husband, Scott, and Amy Hokanson and her husband, Patrick. He has 20 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. (Arrangements: Muehlebach Funeral Home)
