Kenneth Barton Obituary

Bob Barton went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2005 after a long illness. Bob was born in Waukegan, IL on April 12, 1948. His childhood homes were Grayslake, IL, Edinburg, TX and Prairie Village, KS. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East and attended Kansas State University. He enlisted in the Navy and was trained as an Electronics Technician which led to his lifelong interest and proficiency in computers and television. Bob was one of the early producers of local television on American Cable Vision. His show was "Funny Business" and he played "Bobby Beach." More recently he developed TV Production facilities for the KC School District. He is survived by three daughters, Rachael Lauer and her husband, Jon and granddaughter, Hannah Rachel Lauer of Kansas City, MO, Bea Barton of Overland Park, KS and Mary Barton of Phoenix, AZ; his parents, C. Robert and Marilynn Barton of Leawood, KS; brother, James Barton of Overland Park, KS; and sister, Laura Barton of Austin, TX. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 10210 Holmes, Kansas City, MO 64131.
