KEVIN KELLEY Obituary

Kevin Patrick Kelley, 60, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born on August 20, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo., to James J. Kelley and Pamelia (McCorkell) Kelley. Kevin graduated from Parkway Central high school in St. Louis, and went on to get his B.A. in Marketing from Missouri State University. Upon graduation, he continued on in the hospitality industry where he had worked throughout college. Kevin worked in the Baltimore Convention Center from 1979-1983 as an account executive, servicing conventions. In 1982, Kevin moved to Stouffer Hotels' National Sales Office in Washington, DC, managing national accounts for the chain. His career continued to flourish throughout the years, holding titles such as Director of Sales for the Sheraton New Orleans & Washington as well as Director of Sales for the Hyatt and Director of Meetings for the Grand Hyatt in Washington DC. In 1997, Kevin joined the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Kansas City as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, to better promote and acquire conventions for the city. He married his beautiful bride, Michele (Hogan) Kelley on Aug. 6, 1988. In addition to Michele, Kevin is survived by his two children, Shawn M. Kelley and Kyle P. Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Falling ill in 2001, Kevin has had many health struggles through his young life. With a life dedicated to his career, he also dedicated his life to his loving family. Kevin was of the Catholic faith and is a congregate of St. Therese Parish. Michele,

You may not remember me, I worked for Kevin at the Kansas City Convention Bureau. My wife at the time, Kelly and I lived near you folks.

I was thinking of Kevin the other day and obviously googled him and found his obituary.

I am sorry for yours and your kids loss. Enjoyed working for Kevin.

God Bless You,

Bob Easton

Dear Michele and family, I am truly sorry to hear of Kevin falling asleep in death. May he sleep peacefully until Jesus calls him to be resurrected and to rejoin family and friends (Jo 3:16). Please accept my condolences. Andrew

Michele, I'm so sorry to hear about Kevin passing. You, Shawn and Kyle have really endured these past years. Laura and I will miss Kevin, he was a great friend and I will always miss his great laugh and the fun times we had together. The great gossip stories we shared on our rides to and from work, we would laugh the whole way. Laura and I will miss him dearly. John and Laura Collins. [email protected]
