KIRK SHOUT Obituary

Kirk Allen Shout, 60, of Grandview, MO passed away March 5, 2015 at Research Hospital with his family by his side. Visitation will be 4:00-5:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Royer Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will immediately follow. Kirk was born on February 15, 1955 to Leo & Cleo Shout in Kansas City, MO. Kirk graduated from Grandview High School and attended UMKC Conservatory of Music. Kirk was a retired musician/ drummer and percussion teacher. He played since the early age of 10. He played with several local bands and had the opportunity to be the opening band with some local talents, one in particular was "Asleep at the Wheel". He later found enjoyment teaching percussion to adults and children mostly with Guitar World and another store in Independence, MO and some private lessons. He absolutely loved playing the drums. It was his passion but later in life teaching became the next best thing to a live audience. He is preceded in death by his father Leo Shout. He is survived by his mother Cleo Shout, his brother Mark Shout and his sister Denise Shout- Hooper. He also leaves behind his nieces, Staci Mathes, January Pointer and Jaclyn Adams and his one nephew Justin Shout. He also leaves behind 5 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces: Logan, Davin, Hayden, Cole, Christian, Hannah, Ava and Emma. My condolences to Kirks family. I hadn't talked to him in quite a while but I have found memories of him in high school with his red mustang, and he always made me laugh. RIP Kirk.
