LINDA KEMPER Obituary

LINDA ROSE KEMPER Linda Rose Konicek Kemper, 70, passed away September 5, 2017, at home in Kansas City, MO. Born May 12, 1947 in Waterloo, IA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys Konicek. On Feb. 11, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Harvey H. Kemper Jr. in Dysart, IA. They shared 50 years together. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She created many beautiful memories for her family and friends to treasure for the rest of their lives. She will be dearly missed. Linda celebrated her love of family through family photos, ancestry, antiques and old stories. And she generously opened her heart and home to help others. Linda loved Mother Nature and could often be found in her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She had a special connection to the animals and birds on her farm, similar to Snow White. Her boundless creativity and energy filled many interests and hobbies over the years, including flower arranging, photography, painting and crafts. She was a member of the Water Garden Society of Greater Kansas City, KC Bear Club, Bowling Club, and the Ruskin High Booster Club. She was certified in massage and energy work, honored the priestess process, and raised toy breed dogs (Maltese and Shih Tzu). Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron Konicek, and her sister Lois Konicek Corbin. She is survived by her husband Harvey H. Kemper Jr., her daughter Kari Kemper, son Kurt Kemper and his wife Dulce Kemper, grandson Andres Kemper, step-son Joe McBride and his wife Stacey McBride, granddaughters Emily and Audrey McBride and many other relatives. In addition to raising their children, Linda and Harvey hosted four foreign exchange students, Patrik, Andres, Pia and Anne-Francoise, who became part of their family. Celebration of Life will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Timberlakes at Red Bridge Apt. Clubhouse, 11201 Montgall Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contribution may be made to Cancer Action (canceractionkc.org) or Wayside Waifs (waysidewaifs.org) Arr.: Heartland Cremation & Burial Society 816-313-1677.

Linda was a woman of unending talents, including the design and completion of many clever projects around her home that left me in awe. Every time I visited her home, there was something new that she had managed to create.
Red Bridge bowling alley teams and the Fred Broski Open gave us many happy hours to share.
Linda made everyone feel so special, a trait that she has passed on to the every day life of her daughter Kari. And she seemed to gather in all of her children“s friends, and make them part of her family. (One particular boy would always head to the warmth of the Kemper home when upset with his own mother). Thank you for being there, Linda, and thank you family for sharing her.
Linda has definitely left a void in the lives of all of us who were privileged to a part of her life.
