Louis Jakowatz Obituary

Louis G. Jakowatz, Jr., 89, of Irvine, CA, formerly of Kansas City, KS, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Strawberry Hill. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church. Mr. Jakowatz was born August 30, 1917 to Louis & Pauline (Stimac) Jakowatz in Kansas City, KS. He had been employed as a baker at Manor and Cake Box Bakeries prior to his retirement in 1976. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, its Catholic Club, Senior Citizens group and the Bakers Union, Local 218. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine B. Jakowatz of the home; two sons: LCOL Louis G. Jakowatz and wife Kathy, Tucson, AZ, James G. Jakowatz, MD and wife Margaret, Irvine, CA; two sisters: Emma Novosel, Anna Rose Svaglic, both of Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren: Jenna & James Alexander Jakowatz, Irvine, CA.
