Louis and Deanna spent time traveling the county cultivating friendships and creating lasting memories. Their favorite place to visit were the old stomping grounds of Kansas City...visiting family, friends, and all the BBQ restaurants he could find...a couple favorites of which were Oklahoma Joe's and Arthur Bryant's... Ranking equally high were wings from the Peanut.

Growing up in Kansas City, Louis attended Lillis High School and played the trumpet. He was a Boy Scout for many years and was enjoying guiding his grandsons in Scouts and teaching them to fish. Louis was a dedicated, hard worker, and man of character, devoted to his family.

Louis was also a proficient knife maker and collector of many unique items. Deanna and Louis shared an interest in collecting barbed wire and later donated this collection to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works Museum. .Collections also included Anheuser Busch knives and memorabilia,. and membership in the Randall Knife Society.
