LYLA WIGGINS Obituary

Lyla Janet Owen Wiggins passed away on November 16, 2013 in Kansas City, MO. She was born July 12, 1942 in Omaha, NE to Helen O. Douthy and Eugene G. Owen, both who preceded her in death. She relocated to KCMO with her two sons to begin her extensive career in the insurance division with GMAC-MIC. She happily retired after 34 years of dedicated service from GMAC and remained in KCMO until her passing. She leaves to cherish her memory: Two sons, Mark S. Owen of Hiram, GA and Michael E. Owen (Victoria) of KCKS; a brother Eugene G. Owen, III, who preceded her in death; 4 sisters, Angeline Wead of Atlanta, GA; Karolyn Kell of Lexington, KY; Anna Jones of KCMO; and Cecilia Douthy Willis of Wilmington, DE; an aunt, Madeline Matthews and a brother- in-law Rodney Wead both of St. Louis, MO; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
