MARLENE CORNWELL Obituary

Marlene Joyce Cornwell passed away at the age of 82 on September 10, 2014, from Alzheimer's. She was a lady of great kindness, wonderful personality, a desire to help others when in need and will be missed by her family and friends. Marlene was born in Sac City, lowa, and attended Graettinger Community High School. She served as Class President for one semester and was a member of the Cheerleader Team during her sophomore year. She set for her test at the State Board of Nursing in Jefferson, Mo., and became a Licensed Practical Nurse on April 15, 1955. She earned her Associates in Arts at Longview Community College in May 1976, the same year her son Gary L Cornwell graduated from Hickman Mills High School. She retired from Western Electric Company in 1987. Throughout her life she loved her dogs, Corky, King, Big Carrie, Lacy and Little Carrie. She also surprised other dogs in her neighborhood with dog treats on a regular basis. She was active in painting ceramics for several years and her final products reflected her pride. She had great satisfaction in knowing her tomato plants would be the tallest and produce more fruit than any other plants grown on the street. Survivors include her children and spouses, John R. and Kelley Glazier, Jerry W. and Linda A. Glazier, Terry L. and George W. Davis and Gary L. and Tammy Cornwell; her grandchildren, Jeremy Glazier, Jody Glazier; Christian A. Glazer, George W. Davis, Jr., Roger W. Davis, Amanda Cornwell and Brandon Cornwell; and her great grandchildren, Sydney Glazier, Mya Campbell, Allison Glazier, Tyler Campbell, James Glazier, Mason Marquez and Savannah Marquez, sister, Bonnie G. Suss, and nephew, Scott J. Suss. She is predeceased by father, Clarence Jenkins, mother, Coline Steininger and brother, Jack D. Jenkins and nephew, Todd G. Suss.
