Mary Anna Berkshire Glenn

June 16, 1934 - April 29, 2024

Kansas City, Missouri - Mary Anna Berkshire Glenn, 89, of Fairway, Kansas, passed away April 29, 2024. Memorial Services will be at 11am, Tuesday May 7th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri. Cremation with Inurnment in the Church Columbarium. The family requests no flowers and instead suggests contributions in her memory to the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, or Wayside Waifs.

Mrs. Glenn was born June 16, 1934, in Kansas City, MO and resided in Vienna, Austria and Fairway, Kansas. She graduated from Sunset Hill School in 1952 and attended Smith College and the University of Kansas, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

Mrs. Glenn taught elementary school in Johnson County, Kansas and taught Engineering English in Austria where she raised her family. After returning to the Kansas City area, Mrs. Glenn headed the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Program for the American Red Cross. One of her greatest joys was volunteering at Brighton Gardens for five years where she played the piano and entertained for hours on end.

Mrs. Glenn was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, the Junior League of Kansas City, Nelson Atkins Friends of Art, Homestead Country Club, and St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Glenn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard L. Glenn, in 1997, her sister, Margaret L. O'Shell, in 1998, her two stepsons, Richard C. Glenn and John B. (Blake) Glenn, and two beloved dachshunds, Minnie and Waldi. Mrs. Glenn is survived by her two sons, Herbert A. Kisler, Kansas City, Missouri, and Michael B. Kisler, Leawood, Kansas, two granddaughters, Stephanie Kisler and Morgan Kisler, one great granddaughter, Naomi Malmborg, her brother John H. Berkshire III, and four stepdaughters, Jennifer Glenn Gutu, Barbara Glenn Rusnak, Beth Glenn Warren, and Laura Glenn Cheshire.
