This comes many years after the fact, as I'd just decided to see if I could locate Mary, so many years after we knew each other at St. Louis University. What prompted this is uncovering a letter she wrote to me in 1965 from her home in Kansas City, at that point taking time off from college to consider her future. I wish that I'd somehow managed to have stayed in touch over the years when so many things intervened. It is sad to learn of her passing & I only wish that I knew more about how she spent the years prior to her passing. Bill

I was stunned and saddened to learn of Mary Gayle's passing. The name "Gayle" also jumped off the page when I so the obituary. We dated briefly in high school/college, going to the Rockhurst High Senior Dance together. I remember her intelligence, beauty, and her wonderful family. We all had many great conversations and debates. She was a wonderful person.

So sorry to here about Mary. Iwas one of her classmates at Hogan High. I also voted for her to be Miss Hogan High. She was truly an inspiration to the whole class.

I am saddened by the passing of Mary Gayle. We were friends at St Anns Grade School in Independence. However, when last I spoke with her, about 20 years ago, I was very rude and obnoxious. I embarassed myself, and said things that I am truly sorry for, but I never got a chance to ask for her forgiveness. My prayers go out for her, and the members of her family. God Bless my old friends.
