Mary is one of most loving woman I have ever met. All of our children attended Park HIll and Mary was that special person that they all grew to know and love. I will remember her as one of the original TOGAS at the school. We know you will watch over all of us!

Mary was a very special lady, an angel to all that she came in contact with. She always found a way to fit just one more time to volunteer at church and school to help our children. I had the pleasure to sit with her many nights during youth group as we served the teens. On behalf of my family and the PTA's that she so willingly gave her time to we send our thoughts and prayers for healing and rememberance to the Wheeler family.

Ron and Ronny,
Our hearts go out to you and your family on the passing of Mary. We have been thinking of her and you daily. Mary always took a personal interest in all of our children. Our kids grew up with her in their Elementary School, Prairie Point and then had Mary to guide them at Park Hill High School. Claire said that Mary was amazing. Even as recently as the October Boy Scout Troop 314 Chili Supper, Mary was inquiring about our children. She even offered wedding planning assistance for our daughter, Sarah. Mary would always inquire how Charles was doing since graduating from Park Hill High School. Mary was such a giving person. Mary touched the lives of all our family as she did for so many in the surrounding community. She was a shining star. Our thoughts and prayers go out for you all.

I first met Mary when she was the nurse at Graden and my children were there and then a few years later I came to work for Park Hill School District and I ran into Mary and she remembered me and asked about Patrick and Cynthia by name!!!! She always has been a special person to so many in the Park Hill School District. She has inspired many to be a better person in this world. Your Wife, your Mother, your Grandmother has left imprints on so many people and those people will always remember Mary Wheeler and be better for their time with her. For a small lady she has made a huge imprint in our lives. Valerie Davis

Linda,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family on the passing of your mother. I was always fond of Mary and was always struck by how sweet she was to me whenever we accidentally met over the years. I was especially touched to see her at my sisters funeral. I gave her a big hug. She was a big person in a small size.
I am attaching a poem that has come to mind. The author is unknown to me.
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord.

Our family and the Park Hill and Platte Woods Methodist communities have lost a wonderful spirit and example of God's tremendous grace and love. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary's family, we have lost a great light in our lives, but heaven has gained a wonderful presence.

I had the special pleasure of working with Mary when I when I got my first teaching job at Graden 25 years ago, then again 15 years ago when we opened Prairie Point. Not surprisingly, Mary was our spirit award winner while there. As our school nurse, she had a special way of taking care of her teachers just as lovingly as she took care of each and every little child. At Park Hill High School, she protectively took care of our two kids, Brianna and Tyler, as if they were her own. Mary knew everyone, cared about everyone, and took such joy in brightening the life of anyone she came into contact with. I never saw or talked with Mary that she wasn't smiling her beautiful smile. (and yes, you could tell she was smiling, even over the phone or through an email.) Mary did God's work each and every day; the extent of her influence will never be fully understood. Our lives were better for having known her; Heaven is a brighter place today because of her presence. Love you, Mary!

Mary was one of the most loving and caring persons I have ever known. She always took time to visit with me and my children when we'd see her around town. She remembered our names even though it had been many years since they attended Graden. God's love truly shone through the life of Mary Wheeler.
