Micah Holmes Obituary
August 19, 2004 - June 7, 2024
Kansas City, Missouri - One of the kindest, most curious and creative humans, Micah was a uniquely original son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend. His lifelong thirst for knowledge, books, games and the unusual was unparalleled. His ability to create and articulate alternate worlds was captivating and contagious. In his truest element, Micah could be found with cat in lap and book in hand, adventuring in fantastic universes with complex mythologies and speculative biologies.
A lover of REALLY long walks, Micah appreciated minuscule miracles and celebrated the wonders of the smallest details of life, people and nature. He was kind to the absolute core and an authentic protagonist of his own journey. He built rich friendships over complex games and honored those friends with absolute devotion. He showed us how to live more humbly, gratefully and genuinely through his effortless, everyday actions and beautiful, shy smile.
We will carry Micah's gentle, loving, imaginative spirit and unique perspective with us as we continue his story.
Parents Jimmy & Jaminda Bass Holmes and brother Isaac; grandparents Jim & Janet Holmes; aunts, uncles, cousins Cathy, Tim, Hattie & Jack McLane; Amy, Jeff & Ben Shifley; Becky, Adam & Margot Heroux; Joren, Beth & Aero Bass. And so many remarkable friends, we appreciate you.
