Michael Jennings Obituary

Michael Edward Jennings, 48, of Kansas City, KS, died Monday, January 20, 2003, at his home. He was born June 19, 1954, in Kansas City, KS. Mr. Jennings worked for 25 years for the Board of Public Utilities as an electric light meter technician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local 53 and its Executive Board. Mike was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was also a member of the B.G.A. Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Jennings, in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beverly Jennings, of the home, two daughters, Kara Jennings, of the home, and Emily Bright (Wayne), of Renwick, New Zealand, his father, John Robert "Bob" Jennings Sr., of Kansas City, KS, four brothers, John Robert Jennings Jr. (Michelle), and Jeff L. Jennings (Liz), all of Kansas City, KS, Peter Jennings (Kathy), of Basehor, KS, and Gerald "Joe" Jennings (Angie), of Parkville, MO, four sisters, Jamie Shell (Dennis), Kathleen Jennings, and Beatrice Boatwright, all of Kansas City, KS, and Laura Gosserand of Kansas City, MO. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, KS, where friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 94th & State. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 8076, Prairie Village, KS 66200. (Arrangements: Meyers Family Funeral Home, 913-334-6300)

To the whole Jennings Family: Sorry to hear about Mike. We found out while eating lunch on Monday at El Rancho Grande in Lee's Summit. Bernie has worked with John, knew Mike and the whole Jennings clan from growing up in the same neighborhood as kids. God be with you all in your time of sorrow.
