Kansas City, Missouri - Michael "Mickey" Steven Lewis departed this life on May 27, 2022 at home at the age of 79. He was born May 18, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to Christine Leola Lewis Wilson & Joseph Lewis Sr. Mickey was a maintenance worker who devoted his life to the education of his children & grandchildren; learning their schoolwork so he could teach them math, reading, science & that their self-worth extended beyond the geographic area of their birth. He loved to fish and crawfish; pridefully fishing all the lakes & streams in the KC area. He was happiest on the water & took his children fishing every Saturday. He loved to sing to his children first thing in the morning as he got them dressed for school with a voice like Smokey Robinson belting out jazz, blues, & R&B. Mickey was a self-taught mechanic, woodworker, could build/fix anything, & do precise calculations in his head. Mickey was preceded in death by his children Robert Lewis, Steven Lewis & David C. Warren; grandchildren Steven Warren Jr, Corey Hatton, David L. Brown & g-grandchild Brooklyn M. Musyoki. Survived by his children, Zena Warren, Robin D. Warren, Joseph Warren, Steven Warren Sr, ss Roderick Warren; grandchildren Keanna D. Hutton, Nicole & Eric Musyoki, Jazmyn T. Warren, Kierre Shepherd, Steven C Warren Jr, Joseph C Warren Jr, Tyler Warren and Taylor Warren; g-grandchildren Brennen Musyoki & Jordyn Warren. Forever in our hearts RIP Mickey.
