Nicholas "Nick" John Buek Nicholas "Nick" John Buek, 66, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Topeka. He was born November 15, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the son of Robert and Betty Jo (Tarro) Buek. Nick graduated from Burlingame High School in 1969 and attended Washburn University. He worked a majority of his career in sales for 3M Dental, later working for Edmonds Dental. Survivors include two daughters, Kaitlin Buek, Valley Falls; Kelsey (Ben) Buek, Lawrence; a brother, Steve (Cindy) Buek, Spring Hill; and the mother of his daughters, Teri Lee Alexander. All reside in Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Osage City, KS. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Osage City, KS. A parish rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. Friday, prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Avalon Hospice and sent in care of Carey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 196, Burlingame, KS 66413.

Oh my Gosh!!! I am so sad right now! I have known Nick since 1974. We were friends and he and my husband Peter LindNer were friends. My husband also passed away. They had worked at Ray Beers together. Then my husband became a Realtor as I am now. When I would have some open houses, Nick would come visit me at my open houses. I just talked to Nick on the phone about 5 weeks ago. I knew he was at the nursing home and just yesterday thought I should go see him and here is his obituary that literally took my breath away!! I am so sorry!! Please accept my sincere condolences. He was such a sweet man. I am truly sorry!!! May the Holy Spirit comfort you during this time. You don't know how much you miss a person until they're gone. I am so sorry..If I can help you, please feel free to contact me.

Nick and I worked for multiple different dental companies through the Midwest and even though many times we were in competition we always supported each other. He will be greatly missed in the dental community. I will be praying for his family. God bless!

Kaitlin, Kelsey, Steve; I am so sorry for your loss. Nick was a solid friend for 35+ years. He introduced me to my wife, and provided wonderful unconditional support to me when she passed.
