Orlando R. "Del" D'Alessandro
December 12, 1944 - May 2, 2023
San Antonio, Texas - Orlando R. "Del" D'Alessandro, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Del was born December 12, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY to Orlando and Catherine D'Alessandro and was the oldest of four children. Del graduated high school from The American High School of Tehran, Iran in 1962 and attended the University of Maryland in Munich and Maryland.
He served in the Army in Vietnam and worked at Hallmark Cards for more than 40 years. Del enjoyed tennis, bowling, traveling, poker, bridge, gun collecting and was an avid photographer. He had several of his pictures selected for Hallmark greeting cards. Del moved to San Antonio, Texas after his wife Jody passed away in 2020.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, May 22, 2023, with a luncheon to follow. For family and friends who are not able to attend, the service will be live streamed at www.porterloring.com.
