PATTY COVERT Obituary

Patty Marie Lackey Covert, 59, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at her home in Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Covert was born Dec. 26, 1952, in Excelsior Springs, the daughter of Delbert and Runa (Nelson) Stephens. She married Terry Covert on May 21, 2003, in Liberty, Mo.; he survives of the home. Patty worked for the Rexam Plastic Plant as a break operator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs and she had a great love for animals. Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Runa Stephens. In addition to her husband, Terry, she is survived by her father, Delbert Stephens and wife Betty of Excelsior Springs; one son, Chris Lackey and wife Amy of Gladstone; one daughter, Stephanie Carder and husband Richard of Excelsior Springs; one brother, Allen Stephens of Chillicothe; three granddaughters, Caitlin, Bailey and Gracie Carder all of Excelsior Springs. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Excelsior Springs Friends of Animals, PO Box 661, Excelsior Springs, MO 64624.
