Dear Sopher family, life is funny how full circle life is. I just found out about Peter from some Camp Quality Friends that I see in my office. We always talk about what wonderful times we had and the special people along the way. I was a companion at Camp Quality NWMO from 1992-2002. I was in college when I started CQ and had no idea the impact it would make on my life. I remember Peter mostly because while in college at KU I had taken an ASL class. Little did I know that I would meet such a special young man at camp and be able to practice signing with him during the summers. I remember Peter just lighting up when I signed to him if he signed and told him that I did as well. What a special moment for me and from that moment on he and I were fast friends. He would come running just so that he could sign to me and really vice versa. I remember Peter so well, like so many throughout the years, he touched me deeply and gave me priceless pictures and vast memories. I feel so fortunate to have known Peter and to have laughed, and signed with him. I will forever see him as a wonderfully charismatic young man with such a great smile. Thank you for sharing that time with me during that one week a year at Camp Quality, it's still some of the best summers of my life.

Jana, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Peter was such a determined young man and was admired by all that knew him for the way he lived his life to the fullest. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Please know that he was blessed to have had such a loving and devoted Mom like you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My wife and I always admired Peter even though we only said hi when we entered CostCo. We never knew what challenges your son was overcoming but he was and is an insperation to all that had the pleasure to see him. May god be with you.

I knew Peter from Camp Quality. What an amazing person he was. So sad to hear that he passed. We had such good times at Camp Quality. I think its wonderful you ask for donations to go to that camp, it is such a special place for all of us. He will be missed but Heaven is blessed to have him now.

Jana, I am so sorry for your lose. Peter was friends with my brother and I. My brother Dennis Willett and Peter worked at Costco together and I went to school with him. He always kept in touch and had a great out look on everything. The last time we heard from him was last week. He always said he was doing fine, while also being super excited about something else. He will be missed but always remembered.

Jana, that was a wonderful service for Peter, in such a beautiful church. It was touching that it had been a church for the deaf. I remember Danny Cox from long ago in River Quay. I saw him play many times and the fact that he wrote a song for Peter touched my heart. I have many special memories of Peter and Andrew growing up together, but one moment I will never forget was when he showed up on my porch last year to tell me of his father's passing. All I could do was hug him. He loved both of you so much. You raised a fine man. God bless you.

We did not really know Peter, but Chris was the MC at his Eagle Court of Honor and he seemed like a wonderful young man! He made an impression on us in just that short afternoon. I know he will be missed by many. Our prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Dear Jana,
While I never met Peter in person, I felt that I knew him through you and the wonderful things you told me about him. Your life was so enriched and meaningful through your wonderful son.
I am so sorry, Jana. I hope that you will have many loving people around you to help you with this horribly difficult time. I love you, and hope that I can help with anything that will be needed from you.

Peter was an amazing young man. Not only was he a co worker, but also my friend. He had big dreams of being in the filming industry! I loved listening to his stories. He was such a great guy and will be missed by many. If he was at the door, you DIDNT get in without showing him your card!! He took pride in his job and was wonderful at it. Costco 373 wont be the same without him. Heaven sure is a brighter place now though!! Love ya buddy!!

What a delightful young man! Peter's smile is remembered as one of the most wonderful sights in the world. We were only a reflected smile to him, but to us he was Peter with the million dollar smile. Our thoughts are with him and you, the family.

I have so many great memories of Peter. We used to love to build forts at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We stayed up late watching movies and playing video games. We rode the go-kart around the neighborhood. Whatever we did together, we had an absolute blast. Peter always had the best since of humor. He struggled with his health for so long, but he was so fun-loving and happy that he almost made me forget he was even sick. He was a sweet person and will be greatly missed. Wherever he is, I know he's happy. Love you, buddy. From your cousin and friend, Nikki.

Peter was one of my oldest friends. As a child I may not have known, but Peter was instilling in me inspiration and that certain spark that only Peter could. Over the years I've retained great memories of Peter that I can now cherish forever. It will be hard not getting those texts from him that, no matter the topic, let me know he was still doing well. RIP Peter. Everyone will be missing you.

Peter's smiling eyes will be missed greatly by all Costco members. I didn't know his story, but I've admired his tenacious spirit through the years...you could tell he loved greeting people and never seemed down! Heaven is lucky to have a special angel like you Peter. May you inspire others with your courage. Kathi H, Costco member

Peter was my best friend from as early as I can remember and continued to be an extension of our family after we moved across town. Pete and I would do everything together. I will never forget the summer days where we spent from morning until night riding bikes (even when Pete had a full leg cast on), swimming, playing SEGA, and more. I miss him so much but know that he is in a much better place and we will meet again someday. Love you Pete.

Dear Jana--I so remember the first time I saw Peter...getting off the bus at Camp Quality with his bug barn in his hand--so cute. My sister, Jan Moutray, was his camp companion so we were so fortunate to spend our week with Peter and our own little companions. I am so saddened to hear of Peter's death, Jana. Peter is my good friend. I enjoyed every minute I had with him. He so loved talking about acting, writing, theater and film. He wanted to be a part of it, had his plans and I wanted to help him. I will not be able to do some of the things I had hoped for him now. But Peter inspired me to remember to always love acting, to cherish it and to appreciate it. Peter is/ hilarious cool and a fighter in ways that are awe inspiring. I know my step father John Tweedie also loved and admired him. I also know my family does too. I will miss him VERY much. He was always just an e-mail away. I pray that God has a 1000 roles for Peter on the stage he so deserves to be on. Love you Peter! I will NEVER forget you!!!

Peter has been a part of our family's life since the very beginning. We watched him overcome leukemia and take charge of his life, accomplishing everything he set his mind to. Our family has a lot of great memories of Peter driving his Powerwheel's Jeep to the front door to pick up Hayley for a cruise through the neighborhood, watching scary movies (Chuckie!), and playing basketball in the backyard. As he grew older, he becaome an accomplished young man. We'll miss running into Peter at Costco and family events. All the best!

Remember when he drove all he way out to our house with his new Mustang for Tylers HS graduation? And yes, those big incredible eyes that were always happy to see me, making me feel special. Ive told his story of accomplishments in spite of his physical challenges to many people he never met and always they are as impressed as I am. He will always be a source of inspiration for me, Tyler and Tommy.
Love to all of you,
Kathy
