Diane Sue Soper

SOPER, Diane Sue – of Fostoria, MI, age 84, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, with her loving daughter at her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 12-1 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Diane was born in Flint, MI on May 25, 1941, daughter of the late Clarence and Garnett Osmon. Diane married the love of her life, Gary Soper, on October 3, 1959. Diane worked for a brief time as a ward clerk, but her most meaningful and lasting work was in the home, where she devoted her life to caring for her family. She created a warm and welcoming space for those she loved, often bringing people together through her cooking and the traditions she built over the years. In her spare time, she found joy in tending to her flower gardens and getting lost in a good book. Diane also loved to spend time at the cottage in Port Austin during the summer season. Her quiet dedication, kindness, and love for simple moments will be remembered by all who knew her.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Michael) Currie of Millington, MI; two grandsons, Justin Soper of Mayville, MI, and Kyle (Samantha) Currie of Saginaw, MI; daughter-in-law, Teresa Soper of Mayville, MI; and many other loving family members and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gary Soper; her son, Eric Soper; her parents, Clarence and Garnett Osmon; her brother, Gary Osmon; her sister, Bonnie McNew; and her brothers-in-law, Kurt and James Soper.
