Richard Sneddon Obituary
December 28, 1931 - August 19, 2025
Kansas City, Missouri - Richard Edward Sneddon, 93, passed away on August 19, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dick is survived by his wife, Barb; his children, Meda Branwell (Bill) and Steven Sneddon (Tammy); stepchildren, Deborah Dudley (Phil), Bill Rudy (Pat), and Rick Rudy (Sue); along with ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Dick & Barb enjoyed being included in many holidays & events, through the many years, at Bill & Pat's home. And, they were frequently blessed with extra care by the two of them.
A service will be held for Dick on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. & the funeral at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow services at 1:30 p.m. in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis International, or a charity of choice.

When 13-year-old Dick Sneddon appeared in an 8th grade class in Lowell, Oregon, it was to take a leadership role in the school from then on. I was an admiring fellow student. He was a natural leader, smart, more mature than most, optimistic, smiling and kind-even if somewhat intimidating by what seemed his natural superiority. He held offices as president of this and that. As years passed and students became alumni, he was the glue that held the Class of 1950 together, keeping in touch by phone calls when time took its toll on classmates ability to travel to reunions. His calls to me were uplifting and informative as we shared our mutual political outlook. Dick, our "Fearless Leader." Never to be forgotten by anyone who knew him. Blessings on his travels to the Hereafter!

Dick really enjoyed college basketball. He and I had many wonderful times discussing our favorite teams and games. I´ll remember him every season, especially during March madness when he would get excited and animated talking about the games.
