Robert Joseph Maher Robert Joseph Maher, 81, Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at his home. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory; inurnment in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial con-tributions may be made to the Leukemia Society, 6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy #202, Mission, KS 66202. Bob was born July 27, 1937 in Brandon, IA to Ro-bert D. and Doris L. Maher. He earned his BS degree from University of Northern Iowa. Bob was a veteran of the US Army. He married Nora Murphy on June 4, 1960. In 1977, Bob started the Maher Oil Company, re-tiring in 1992. After retire-ment, Bob and Nora traveled all over the world together. Bob's life was built around supporting his wife and fami-ly in all of their dreams. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Nora Maher on Jan. 2, 2011, his son, Michael Maher and grandson, Thomas Maher. Survivors include his three children, Cheryl Maher, Blue Springs, MO, Daniel (Emma) Maher, Shawnee, KS and Julie (Victor) Lukic, Wichita, KS; two sisters, Madonna (Kenny) Roethler, Bismark, ND and Marilyn (Keith) Harrison, Vinton, IA; four grandchildren, Nora An-cel, Robert Maher, Victoria Lukic and Jackson Lukic; and five great grandchildren.
