ROBERT SIXTA Obituary

Robert E. Sixta passed away April 2nd 2012. He was born January 10th, 1923, in Kansas City, Kansas; the third of 18 children of Ernest and Elizabeth Sixta. Bob attended Ward High School and was an Army veteran of World War II. On June 20, 1942, he married the love of his life, Betty Mae Hervey, and together they raised 5 boys and 2 girls. Betty died in 2005, after nearly 63 years of loving marriage. Bob was a successful Registered Architect in Kansas City but together with Betty, discovered their true passion, sailing. They spent many wonderful years sailing with family and friends at Lake Perry on "Orzel", their beautifully restored wooden sloop, at the Perry Yacht Club. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, spouse and one child, Christopher. He is survived by his sons; Bob (Mary Sue), Bill (Deborah), Joe (Leonie), Jeff (Peggy) and Greg (Cyndie), and daughters Marlane (Michael Young) and Mary; 14 grand children and 2 great- grandchildren. Friends may call on the family at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 2550 Gillham, Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 10th, at 9 am, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 AM and the celebratory funeral mass at 10:30 am. Burial will be in The National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Ks. Donations can be made in Bob's name to St. Jude's Hospital of Kansas City. No flowers please.
