ROBERT VIELHAUER Obituary

Bob "Beaver" Vielhauer, 71 1/2, lifelong resident of Shawnee, Kan., passed away the morning of Jan. 4, 2016, in his sleep. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Charter Funerals, 10250 Shawnee Mission Pkwy. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive Shawnee. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the COPD Foundation, www.copdfoundation.org Bob was the second oldest of 11 children. He was the proud business owner of Beaver Drill & Tool Co. for 48 years. He enjoyed a hobby of sprint car racing throughout the Midwest. He spent many years taking fun filled trips to the Lake of the Ozarks with his wife, family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, John (Jack) and Helen Vielhauer and stepson, Scott Adams. Survivors include wife, Elaine Vielhauer, children, Billy (Cheryl) Vielhauer, Diana (Byron) Frith and Cary (Steve) Smith, and 10 grandchildren, step children, Tammy, Michael and Nichole, 10 step grandchildren, as well as seven brothers, three sisters and his two favorite four-legged friends, Gizmo and Snoopy. As a member of the sprint car team 2V "the flying Dutchman", we spent many nights racing with Bob, and many fun bench racing sessions in the garage. Bob was always fun to be around and will missed by all who knew him. My condolences to Billy and the rest of the family.
