I have thought often about dear Dr. Wortmann over the years. He was associated with Dr. Fred Kyger who delivered nine of Ressie and Wm Comer's children.(at home)of which I was one. Then it was my turn and Dr. Wortman had recently arrived in the area and he delivered my two children, Steve and Donna Meyer in 1948 and 1950, along with several nieces and nepews. What a dear soul. What a charming manner...I loved him.

I was a nurse in the office in 1963. I always respected and admired his medical talent and his caring. He was a wonderful man and a special physician.

When Dr. Wortman delivered our third son, Brett, who was 9 lbs. 8 ozs., he warned that at the progression weights of our sons so far the next one would be 11 lbs., 2 ozs. Needless to say, we stopped at three sons. Dr. Wortman's humor made him special.
P.S. That son Brett and wife Kim are overdue today in Germany for their first baby. Hope their doctor is as good as Dr. Wortman.

To the family of Dr. Wortmann,
I was a patient of his beginning in 1961. He delivered all three of my children.
He was kind, informative, and proud of his family. I have never been able to find another OB doctor who measured up to his high standard of living/medical care.
I have often wondered how he and all of you were over the years following his retirement. Which I might say broke my heart. He was one of a kind.
thank you for sharing him with the rest of us,
Mary Jo Troughton
