I initially met Dr Hornstra while a resident in Adult Psychiatry at UMKC / WMMHC program. Dr Hornstra was a prince of a man. He will be missed by all those his life touched. May your family find strength in this difficult time.

Though I did not know Dr Hornstra personally I do know his brother and family in the Netherlands and wish to express my condolences to the members of his family. Dr Hornstra lived well and was well loved. He will be missed by many but live on in their hearts and memories.

Dr. Hornstra was a source of inspiration to many of us in the mental Health field who had the pleasure of learning under him. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his vast experience and knowledge with residents. I am greatful for having had the opportunity to learn from him.
