ROBIN LEANNE (CUMMINS) DOWD Robin Leanne (Cummins) Dowd passed away Saturday morning, April 5, 2014, at 1:25 a.m. at her home in Grape Creek, Texas, after a brief struggle with cancer. Robin was born Sept. 7, 1956, at St. Luke's Hospital in Independence, Mo. She spent the past two decades in Texas in the San Angelo area where she worked as a nurse. Robin attended Sherwood Junior and Senior High School in Creighton, Mo., and graduated from Ransom High School in Denver, Colo. She received her LVN certification from the Kansas City Board of Education's School of Practical Nursing in 1981. She served her country in the U.S. Army in both active duty and in the reserves. She had a love of animals throughout her life, especially horses, and rode in horse shows and rodeos in both Missouri and Texas. Robin always strove to be the best she could possibly be and will be missed by the people whose lives she touched. Robin is survived by her two daughters and their families, Kamra and Matthew Keeth of Williamsport, Pa., and Kara and Steve Escobedo of San Angelo, Texas; five grandchildren, Madeline, Mary, Maggie, and Mattea Keeth of Williamsport, and Jonas Bauer of San Angelo; her mother, Mildred Matter of Montoursville, Pa.; three sisters, Stephanie Updegraff of Montoursville, Pa., Sandi Cripe of The Colony, Texas, and Jerri Crook of Columbia, Mo.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Joseph Cummins, Jr., and Rogar Allen Cummins; and her father, Thomas Joseph Cummins, Sr. Robin requested cremation; there will be no memorial service.
