Ronnie Ray Barker

Ronnie Ray Barker, 55 of Independence, Missouri passed away February 19, 2007 at the Medical Center of Independence. Ronnie was born April 18, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Cecil W. and Laurie A. (Kessner) Barker. He retired from the Ford Motor Company (Claycomo Plant) after 33 years in July of 2006. Ronnie was a member of the National Nostalgic Nova Car Club. He was an avid classic car lover, drag racing enthusiast, and a Kansas City Chiefs and Missouri tigers fan. Survivors include his wife Penny Barker of the home; 3 sons, Robb Barker and wife Erica of Buckner, MO, Jason Barker and wife Melissa of Parkville, MO, Ryan Barker and wife Jessica of Independence, MO; 1 daughter, Kristen Barker of Independence, MO; 2 step-sons, Ryan Shinneman and wife Amanda of Springfield, MO, Brandon Ohl of Independence, MO; 2 stepdaughters, Marissa Lea of Liberty, MO, Rachel Lea of Independence, MO; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Darold Barker of Independence, MO, Ellis Barker of Warrensburg, MO. The family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Rd., Suite 100, Merriam, KS 66204 Funeral 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at New Salem Funeral Home in Independence.
