Just last week, we visited a retired UP College of Medicine Physiology Professor Emeritus, Dr. Zenaida Bagabaldo. A Physiology colleague, Dr. Beth Montemayor, one of those who experienced working with Dr. Bunag at his KUMC research lab, remembered Dr. Ruben Bunag and his and his wife, Pros for their kindness and generosity during our few months stay. We include them in our prayers and thank God for our knowing them.

I am saddened to learn of Dr. Bunag's passing. He introduced me to laboratory research by giving me an opportunity to train in his lab at KUMC in the mid-1970s. I remember how Dr. Bunag stressed the importance of education, and encouraged me to finish my college degree, and released me with that same encouragement when I did go back to school. I remember how proud he was of his family, especially his children. It was a privilege to have known him.

Dear Pros, Karen and Royce,
I am saddened to hear of Dr. Ruben's passing. He has lived a full life and he deserved the eternal rest that only God can bestow. We at the U.P. College of Medicine Department of Physiology are grateful for the support he had given us by allowing me and several other faculty members to work in his lab at KUMC. He was also generous in including me as author in an article published at the European Journal of Pharmacology. I remember him and Pros as a very gracious couple who made my 3 month stay in KU (1996) memorable.
Our prayers for the eternal repose of his soul. May God be your consolation and comfort at this time of Dr. Bunag's passing. God bless

Dr. Bunag was a wonderful and generous host to the faculty of the Department of Physiology, U.P. College of Medicine, who were fortunate enough to visit his lab and participate in his experiments in the mid-90's, myself included. I will always remember Ben, and his lovely wife Pros, with gratitude and affection.
