Ruth Litwack Obituary

Ruth Litwack, 91, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, in the Yukon Chapel at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Burial to follow. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ohev Sholom Synagogue, Kehilath Israel Synagogue or a charity of one's choice. Mrs. Litwack was the receptionist who warmly greeted and directed all who came to Kansas City Life Insurance Co. She retired in 1984 after working there for 33 1/2 years. Mrs. Litwack was a member of the Kansas City Life Retiree's Club and the Century Club, which was for those who worked for more than 25 years. She was a member of Ohev Sholom Synagogue, Kehilath Israel Synagogue and a former member of its Sisterhood; life member of Hadassah, an active member of Joseph Hartman B'nai B'rith Lodge and volunteered for many years at St. Joseph Medical Center and Kaleidoscope at Hallmark Cards. She also assisted her niece at Bacara Jewelry Design. Mrs. Litwack was born in Kansas City and was a life long area resident. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Marie Kretchmer; her 1st husband of 32 years, Jack A. Belove, in 1982; brothers: Sylvan and Leon Kretchmer; her sister: Jeanette Pasnik and her son-in-law: Barry Pachino. Mrs. Litwack is survived by her husband of 25 years: Myer Litwack; daughter: Judith Pachino, Baltimore, MD; step- son: Mark Litwack, Kansas City, MO; step-daughter and her husband: Davida and Lawrence Reisman, Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren: Cari and Robert Becker, Baltimore, MD; Eric and Teresa Glick, Jacksonville Beach, FL; great grandchildren: Chelsea Becker and J.M. Becker, both of Baltimore, MD; Ryan Jack Glick, Jacksonville Beach, FL; six step- grandchildren and two step-great- grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was a very warm and loving person who gave her time and experience to all of those around her. Family events were very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
