Oh my dear Sharon! I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend the memorial service but I had to work after missing a month of work with the crisis of Julia's illness. I would have loved to have heard more about your remarkable child. When our group was still meeting I so wanted you to come and be with us so we could wrap you in our arms and surround you with our love! What are you doing after Christmas? Everyone at my house is driving away on Sunday and I will be on my own for a while. If you're in town lets get together. Much love,
Carla

Sharon, ever since your text the morning after Shelley's death, I've been amazed by your ability to do what had to be done... in spite of the pain and loss you feel. Your boys were so lucky to have you for a mom! I'll be out of town for the memorial service at Writers Place, but you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello, Sharon,
Since hearing of Shelley's death I have grieved for you. I know you are strong and I know you will survive this with dignity and grace. But I am sure the pain is numbing just now and I am glad you have supporting friends and a loving God.

Our family loved Shelley and he will remain in our hearts. He was kind, generous and I shared a love of Thomas Merton with him. My prayers and thoughts are with you in your great loss.

I spent a wonderful morning with Shelley and my son, Ryan, this past summer. We enjoyed coffe and laughter on the patio and Shelley helped me weed my garden. He was a wonderful young man and he will be missed. My thoughts go out to you. I am so sorry.
