Sue Eversull Obituary

On February 21, 2026, Sue Wilson Eversull passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, grace, and a life beautifully lived. Born on November 5, 1929, in Ferguson, Missouri, Sue's 96 years were marked by family, a passion for beauty, and a deep appreciation for life's simple joys.

In her early years, Sue moved with her family from Jefferson City to Kansas City, Missouri, where she would spend much of her youth. There, she attended the French Convent and Sunset Hill School, forming lifelong friendships and cultivating the poise and curiosity that would define her. She later attended the University of Missouri, where she pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Sue's greatest love story began in 1947, when she met her high school sweetheart, Arnold "Arnie" Eversull, through mutual friends. Their bond was immediate and lasting, with both often describing it as an "instant take." They married in the summer of 1951 and went on to share nearly 70 years of marriage-years filled with unwavering partnership and devotion. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children: Susan, Margaret, and Arnold Jr.

Sue's heart extended beyond people to include the many animals she cherished throughout her life. She was rarely without a beloved dog by her side, and even in her later years, she fondly recalled her childhood pet, Tippy. She would often share stories of playing for hours with Tippy in the forest near her home, memories that reflected her lifelong love of nature and companionship.

Sue loved to read, was a wonderful story teller and always had a witty one liner with perfect timing. Early in her career she taught school before staying home to raise her family. She volunteered her time with the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri and as a docent at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Known for her impeccable taste, Sue had a passion for art and antiques that became both a personal joy and a professional pursuit. With a refined eye and an intuitive sense of beauty, she curated a home filled with character and elegance. This passion blossomed into a career as a well-respected antique and Oriental rug dealer.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Emery (Donald); her granddaughters, Adelaide Perry (Braden) and Alexandra Lee (Taylor); and her great-grandchildren, Briggs Perry, Desmond Perry, Hudson Lee, and Emery Lee. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Eversull; children, Susan Eversull and Arnold Eversull Jr.; and her great-grandson, Trey Perry.

Sue will be deeply missed and dearly remembered.
