Sue Mills Obituary

Sue Marie Mills, 75, of Edwardsville, KS passed away Thursday, July 17th, 2008 peacefully at her home. Funeral Mass Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Patrick's' Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS, with burial to follow in Edwardsville Cemetery in Edwardsville, KS. The family will receive friends at the Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS where the Rosary will be at 3 p.m. Sue was born May 12, 1933 in Kansas City, KS to James and Beulah Mae Houck and was the fourth of five children. She was adopted by Harry and Wilma Brown of Edwardsville in 1936. She graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1951 and then attended Kansas City Junior College. She was a talented pianist and artist. She met Leo Mills of Edwardsville in 1952 and they were married June 4, 1955. Beloved wife, devoted mother and grandmother, Sue is survived by her husband, Leo, her son Kevin (Suzy Pfeifer) of Charleston, SC, grandsons Zach and Sam Mills also of Charleston. Her daughter Jean Crawford (Chris), Grandson Chance Crawford and granddaughter Chelsea Crawford all of Edwardsville, KS. Her brother John Houck of Kansas City, her sister Darlene Walker of Overland Park and her sister Mary Christine Smith of Yuma, AZ, as well as many cousins, Nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her biological and adoptive parents, and her brothers Raleigh Brown, William Brown and James Houck. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Luke's Hospice in care of the funeral home. Arrangements: Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS. 66012, 913-422-4074
