I also was greatly saddened to hear of Tom's death. I was just one of the many figure skating fans he conversed with online and through mail over the years. His love for the sport was obvious. Unfortunately, we lost touch at some point and I was just recently wondering how he was. He brought great joy to the many people he corresponded with. I am very sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers.

Tom, was a very good friend. I met him through one of my other good friends. We talked online and exchanged letters in the mail for a long time. I'm very sad by his loss. He will be greatly missed by a lot of friends. Tom sure did go through a lot during his life. I'm very proud of him for holding on for as long as he did. He was defintley an amazing man.

My condolences go out to all in Mort's family. I worked with Mort for several years at the next desk at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. I eventually took his place as chemical engineer for the Facilities Engineering Section. The joke on Mort's big feet at his retirement ceremony was that I could fill his position but never his shoes. Mort's gentle humor and apparent innocence were not because he was naive. Mort was rather, a deliberate and disciplined gentleman, who made everyone around him as comfortable as possible. Mort was a consummate professional, a steady hand in a dangerous business, and a mentor to all who came to learn. His affection for his wife and daughter were apparent as he often shared stories about family events and home life. His intelligence, sense of humor, and friendship are greatly missed.
PS: No one could take his place let alone fill his shoes.
