Walker LaBrunerie

April 30, 1930 - October 7, 2025

Kansas City, Missouri - Walker LaBrunerie, 95, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 7, 2025, of natural causes after a brief decline following a fall.

Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, Walker's love of learning began with his mother, Katherine Conley LaBrunerie, who tutored him at home. He earned his undergraduate, master's (Russian Studies), and law degrees from Harvard University in the 1950s. After starting his career in law, he moved into real estate development, helping shape north Kansas City-especially the Barry Road area.

He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Wickham LaBrunerie, brother Fernand LaBrunerie, sister Katherine Nenneman, and daughter Suzanne LaBrunerie. He is survived by daughters Claire LaBrunerie (Celebration, FL) and Denise LaBrunerie (Warrensburg, MO), and granddaughters Sabine, Simone, Élodie, and Inès Nix.

A lifelong reader, traveler, and tennis player, Walker will be remembered for his intellect, wit, and generosity of spirit.

Services will be held at a later date.
