Oak Grove, Missouri - Wilbert "Bill" Edward Dill, 84, a resident of Oak Grove, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, September 29, 2022 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. He was born May 29, 1938 to Buryl and Faye (Hughes) Dill in Kansas City, MO.
Bill received his associates Degree in Fire Technology. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Bill was united in marriage to Lois Marie Rentfro on September 1, 1979 in Las Vegas, NV. He owned and operated Advanced Fire Protection for 26 years in Oak Grove, MO where he was active in the business until recently. Bill was Baptist by faith. He was a Free Mason, Scottish Right, and Shriner. Bill enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, drag racing in his early years, and even raced with his son. He also liked to attend the Mecum Car Auction and cars especially mustangs and corvettes.
Survived by his wife, Lois Dill of Oak Grove, MO; children, Deborah Rentfro-Downing and husband Steven of Kansas City, MO, Todd Rentfro and wife Robin of Ft. Myers, FL, Sabrina Dill-Wiewel and husband Matthew of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Peyton Wiewel of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Peggy Dill Todd of St. Joseph, MO, Ralph Dill and wife Robin of St. Joseph, MO; sister-in-law, Jerilyn Johnson of Nashville, TN. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Buryl and Minnie Dill; brother, Charles "Bud" Johnson; sister, Barbara (Hale) White; and beloved uncle and aunt Charles and Opal Northcott.
His family will receive family and friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army. Lois,
I´m sorry for your loss. I didn´t know Bill long, but some people you never forget. I was fortunate to have met him ( and you) in this life´s journey and am proud to call him a friend and elated he felt the same.Sorry I´m can´t say this in person but just can´t get there today.Thank you for calling me .
